Area breakfast a success

To the Editor:

Good news and some waiting.

Our July 24 breakfast was a success as everyone that came got a good breakfast and did not leave hungry.

Everyone departing with words of thanks for a fine breakfast and our volunteers all enjoyed assisting wherever they could.

Our thanks go out to volunteers from American Legion, V.F.W., Brazil National Guard Armory National Guard, and especially to the V.F.W. Auxiliary crew with flipping tire patches and turning dogs, which Jack's Fine Foods donated and all the syrup donated from Page's Grocery Store.

One thing we learned was that some like peanut butter on their flapjacks and some liked second breakfast at no extra charge.

With fresh coffee provided by the V.F.W., and Chief Coffee Maker, Jim Cassidy, all went well and the total amount to date is $10,372.25, with $5,627.75 still needed for the purchase of the new mini-van for the VA Office of Clay County.

Our deadline is Sept. 15, and we do not have any more fundraiser planned at this time.

People of Clay County, if you have something you could plan, we would appreciate it for any help toward out goal for the vets of Clay County.
