Fundraising efforts moving forward

To the Editor:

Another church donated $100 toward the new mini-van for the Clay County Veterans Office so that they might transport vets to VA Hospitals and/or clinics for appointments.

To date, we have $10,492.25, and (recently) and youngster handed me 75 cents and said let us make it an even dollar.

We have yet to hear from some churches that have vets and I haven't heard from the Mayor yet and then with another evening for a Beef Manhattan Dinner Friday, Aug. 13, from 4-7 p.m., we are looking to close in on the needed $16,000.

We appreciate all that have helped in any way, especially the Eagles and the Stultz Family and the bracelet sales, honoring our hometown hero Cpl. Greg Stultz, killed in action in the Middle East. We heard one Sunday School class that was going to assist with a fundraiser. We appreciate all their efforts.

Vets of all services have benefits with VA and residing in Clay County, are eligible to the right to their appointments by the local VA office.

There is no cost.
