Letter to the Editor

Reader discovers faith in God

To the Editor:

I am moved to write and acknowledge the powerful work that God is doing at Putnamville Correctional.

I've been blessed to come here, where I am attending the Plus program, which is a highly structured faith and character-based program.

It's wonderful to have finally submitted to God, our Father, and developed a relationship with Him, and I would like to say to anyone who is struggling with sin to simply ask God to help you. He will. Praise Jesus.

To understand happiness is to not look at the things of the earth and to continually have joy is to focus on the truth, which is Jesus Christ and His word.

I never thought I could, or would, become willing to be fully obedient. But as I turn to my savior constantly, with the realization that He loved me so much He died for me, I love him more each and every day.

With a willing heart, and a focus on eternal life, God will move mountains. I am living proof.

The Bible says in Psalms 37:4, that God will give you the desires of your heart. Nothing carnal, but He will change your desires to His if you'll let Him. It's a joy to love and serve the Lord and I pray my testimony will impact many to glorify our beautiful God.

I am so grateful to Christ Community, Celebrate Recovery and true Christians who teach all that I've been missing. "Love."

Sincerely,

In Christ,

Shawn Weddle,

Greencastle
