Respect and honor the American flag

To the Editor:

The United States has reached a sad state of affairs when it comes to the way we treat our flag.

Our flag flies over our homes, churches, businesses, schools, cemeteries, etc.

The problem is that once we raise our flag, it is forgotten.

Our flag is left flying in tattered disgrace.

The people of our beautiful country spend hundreds of dollars on Christmas, Thanksgiving and Halloween decorations for our yards, but we won't spend $20 to replace our worn out, beaten flags.

Please fly our flag with honor. If you are going to raise our flag only to forget about it, please don't fly our flag at all.
