Thanking emergency responders

Sunday, March 27, 2011

To the Editor:

I have read over time the negative comments about our 911 system, TransCare and St. Vincent Clay Hospital.

A couple of weeks ago, my husband became very ill about 4:30 a.m.

I called 911 and the lady was very professional, kind and stayed on the phone with me. We live out of town and TransCare was here in very little time and the two gentlemen were great with my husband and wasted no time in getting him to the hospital.

Upon arrival at the hospital, the emergency room was "Johnny on the spot," wasting no time in working with him.

He was admitted for five days and the care and concern he received from Dr. Mendoza and Dr. Stephens, all of the nursing staff and technicians, was fantastic.

I know that we have all had good and bad experiences with doctors and hospitals when it comes to medical care, especially when it involves our loved ones, no matter whether it be Brazil, Terre Haute, Indianapolis, etc., but I think that we are so fortunate to have 911, TransCare and St. Vincent Clay in this area.

I want to thank all of them, Dr. Stephens and Dr. Mendoza, for the great care given my husband. Thank you.

Charlotte Brush,

Brazil
