Letter to the Editor

Commander urges involvement

Sunday, May 8, 2011

To the Editor:

After 25 years of holding an office at American Legion Post 2, five of those times being the Commander, I am stepping down from all positions.

I have several health issues and I want to enjoy what retirement time I have left.

I retired in 2005 and dedicated all my time, seven days a week, to Post 2.

I will be 69 next month.

While there, I worked with some of the most dedicated people I have ever known.

Some of those people are still working very hard to get Post 2 up and going again.

My hat is off to them and I will help them if needed.

Elections will take place at the V.F.W. Post 1127 Thursday, May 12, from opening until 7 p.m.

The only person on the ballot at this time for Commander is Randy Kaelber.

Come out and vote or volunteer for office. There are several openings and we need younger veterans to get involved.

Thanks to all the businesses and the community for all your past support and any future support you may give.

A special thanks to The Brazil Times for running our articles.

Commander Nick White,

Brazil
