A true act of kindness

To the Editor:

Sometimes in life, the good things that we do for people can go without notice.

I'm writing to ensure that the generosity of some, get noticed.

Back in May, a severe storm rolled through the Terre Haute area. This storm was severe enough to cause power outages throughout many Terre Haute neighborhoods, mine included.

When my wife and I found out that it may be a couple of days before our power was to be restored, we had to pack some things and temporarily stay with in-laws in the Brazil area.

Loading up for a 5-year-old daughter, a newborn, and two mid-sized dogs was a task to say the least.

Tired, stressed and in a rush to feed the family, I decided to try the Maurizio's in Brazil.

As I got there to pick up our pizza, I found that I would have to pay via debit card. For some reason, the debit machine was not working properly.

Luckily, Maurizio's decided to give me the pizza for free, despite offering to run to an ATM machine for cash.

Thanks again to the wonderful people at Maurizio's for their act of kindness. This act brought some good to an otherwise stressful couple of days.

And by the way, it was one of the best pizzas we've ever eaten.

That's what I call a class act.
