Family grateful for response

Sunday, August 21, 2011

To the Editor:

Over the weekend, my family had a tragedy happen.

My nephew was playing in the yard and suddenly looked up at the sky and went limp.

He wasn't breathing and was burning up. We aren't sure if he had a seizure or if he had a heat stroke.

But he is OK now and my family, especially my sister, has a lot of people to thank for helping us make sure he was OK.

First off, I want to thank our neighbor across the street. He came running over to help my mother and sister cool him down and got him breathing again.

I don't know what we would have done without having such a caring neighbor.

We also want to thank the volunteer firefighters at the Posey Township Fire Department that showed up to help, the ambulance drivers, the doctors and nurses at St. Vincent Clay Hospital.

All these people helped my nephew and my family, especially my sister and my nephew are eternally grateful.

All these people helped save his life and helped all of us get through this and they deserve praise for it.

These people show that there are people that still care for others and will help a neighbor out.

Thank you so much for all your help and continuing to help others.
