Concerns for a veteran

Monday, September 5, 2011

To the Editor:

Men and women that join the armed forces sacrifice so much for our freedom that sometimes, their sacrifices all but ruin their lives.

My son joined the Army as an Infantry Soldier and now has lost 80 percent of his feeling on the left side of his body and is going to have to have three to four vertebras in his lower back fused together.

He has a wife and four children and a home that needs a lot of work done to it just to make it in a healthier condition for him.

They are on a very fixed income and can't afford everything that needs fixed for them.

I'm trying to figure out a way to help get the house fixed for him without letting him know what's going on.

So I am praying and asking that any or all local businesses, construction companies, churches and people of the community please come together to help a disabled veteran in any way they can.

If any questions of what he and his family are in need for, please contact me at 812-691-4467.

Thank you,

Judy Freeman,
