Community Missionary Church close to 60th ton in pop can collection

Sunday, October 30, 2011
Community Missionary Church has collected close to 60 tons of pop cans and tabs for the Ronald McDonald House and for its Rice for Children in Haiti project.

To the Editor:

Community Missionary Church is pushing toward its 60th ton of pop can collection and the "Proof of the pudding" with the delivery of the latest truck load of more than one-and-a-half million tabs to the McDonald House, showing the manager and helping unloading all those boxes of tabs donated by so many fine people.

We appreciate the help with the pop cans and the tabs, even more so when the tabs are separated for us. The cans go toward the Rice for Children in Haiti and the tabs go to McDonald's House that assists in costs for families to stay there while a loved one is being treated at a nearby hospital.

The manager always follows up with a letter of appreciation to the church and all those whom helped gather.

Anyone having tabs or pop cans for pick up may phone 448-2873, 442-6954 or stop by Bedwell Tire and drop off any you may have.

Many thanks to all whom assist.

We ask not for money, only those cans and tabs as our church buys the big leaf bags and transports to the recycling facility and all monies go directly for our "Haiti Project."
