Food Pantry provides update

To the Editor:

The Clay County Emergency Food Pantry reports a continued increase in request for assistance.

Our records indicate a total of 318 families involving 1,142 individuals were provided food items and other household supplies as well as much clothing during January.

The pantry has been blessed with donations adequate to provide for these basic needs.

A continuing need would be for laundry and dishwashing fluids as well as the personal items such as toilet paper and other paper goods.

The pantry is blessed to have a number of volunteers, both male and female to assist in meeting requests for assistance.

The pantry does have some guidelines relative to serving the Clay County community, which includes residency and income.

Please bring with you this information, which will expedite your request.

The pantry is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.-noon. You will be advised that we have a major parking problem so please use the street parking available on Lambert and Alabama.

The public is always welcomed to visit the pantry in operation.

You will be surprised the amount of work that is accomplished in our small quarters.
