Letter to the Editor

Watch those parked cars

Sunday, November 25, 2007

To the Editor:

First of all, I want to thank all of the participants in the Christmas parade and let them know how much my family and I enjoyed it.

The main reason for writing this letter is to address the issue of parking on United States 40 during the parade.

My family, including my 79-year-old mother from Indianapolis, and my daughter and grandson from Florida, were sitting in front of the Brazil Coffee Company. There were approximately 10 small children around us. There were so many cars parked along the curb that these kids had to stand in the street to see the parade around the parked cars.

To me, this is a major safety issue as some of these children were quite small.

I'm sure that the owners of these vehicles were not thinking of this when they parked there, just of their own comfort of being close to the cars after the parade was over.

Please, next year, have a little consideration for the small viewers.

Merry Christmas,

Connie Norris,
