Students were a joy to be with

To the Editor:

I had the privilege of accompanying a group of North Clay Middle School seventh-graders to Beef 'N Boards (Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2008) and I truly enjoyed my experience.

As grandmother of one of the students, I was pleasantly surprised by the actions of the students.

As I sat at a table with four girls and three boys, I was included in conversations and treated respectfully.

I even witnessed one taller student offering to trade seats with a shorter student sitting behind him so that he might see better.

As we so often hear negative news about our youth today, I just wanted to make sure this group of seventh-graders got complimented for their actions.
