Asking for forgiveness for accident

To the Editor:

I am writing this to apologize to the owner or owners of the poor dog who ran in front of my truck today on State Road 340.

I am so sorry. If there would have been anything I could have done to prevent this tragic event, I would have.

He just came out of nowhere and was only 2-feet in front of me when he did. I am a big animal lover and I really feel so bad. I wanted to write and tell you how sorry I am and if there is anything I can do to help, please let me know.

Again, I feel horrible and I'm so sorry. It breaks my heart knowing the pain this has caused. But I wanted you to know it was an accident and that I have felt bad since it happened.
