Loyalty Day scheduled

With a theme of "A Tribute to Our Newest Vets from Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan)," Loyalty Day activities will be celebrated May 9. The Loyalty Day Services and Free Pork Chop Dinner for veterans and their families has been moved to the Brazil National Guard Armory. Activities will begin at 10 a.m. There will be some giveaways, and a guest speaker (yet to be announced) with the veterans' pork chop dinner starting afterwards at approximately 11 a.m. The Loyalty Day parade will be traveling eastward along National Avenue at 2 p.m. As a safety precaution, the Brazil City Police department is requesting vehicles be removed from along the parade route before 1 p.m.
