It's time to clean it all up

Sunday, August 23, 2009

To the Editor:

On Saturday, Aug. 29, 2009, at 8 a.m., if you see a group of people around the Street Department Garage (across from NAPA), don't worry about it.

If you see individuals, small groups, and slow moving vehicles on the street south of United States 40 from State Road 59 west to the city limits or north of U.S. 40 from Sherman Street west to the city limits, don't worry about it. It is a parade.

Oh, there will be no marching bands, floats, flags, or police escorts. It isn't that kind of parade. It's the Ward 3 Cleanup Parade.

Everyone is invited to join in. If you or your organization wishes to participate, you can contact Stacey Gibbens at 446-0050 or call City Hall.

If you cannot participate but want to get rid of something (excluding refrigerators, freezers and air conditioning units), please set it at the curb.

If you cannot move it to the curb, call or come to City Hall to give permission for people to enter your property to get it.

Thank you for helping to keep Brazil clean and making our parade a success.

Leo Southworth,

Brazil
