Open letter to Congressman

To the Editor:

Dear Congressman:

I grow weary of the dance, the duck and cover that you and your office appear to be performing.

Your refusal to face your constituents is somewhat alarming.

While it may be alarming, it certainly is telling: You have a different opinion of what is needed than what the majority of your constituents prefer and you don't want to hear us or change your mind. You feel you are correct and you don't want to have to defend your position.

Mr. Ellsworth, if you don't represent your constituents, who or what do you represent? It has become apparent to me that the real problem in Washington is that there is a wide disconnect between the elected officials and the people they represent. I don't know the specific reason for this. Maybe it is because of an elitist attitude or the simple fact that once elected, you never have to become "one of us" ever again with your guaranteed income and protections.

Maybe it is the feeling that you can just do what you want without repercussions.

I urge you, Congressman, represent us or we'll find someone who will.

This HR3200 is nothing more than an attempt to gain control of another 16 percent of the U.S. economy. It will reform health care, but it will make problems worse, not better. After the government's behavior with HR3200, Americans don't trust the U.S. Government to properly manage much of anything. When it comes to our health care, mistakes are life threatening and we won't put up with it.

Drop HR3200 into the legislative dumpster and do something useful. We're wasting time on it where we could actually do some reforms to make the system better.

The biggest problem with health care in the U.S. is its costs. Fix that and you'll have a better system.

I urge you to vote nay on HR3200 or any derivatives. HR3200 and its concepts are not good for Americans and support of it will prove disastrous to any future political career.
