Kiwanis Club issues thanks

To the Editor:

The Kiwanis Club of Brazil will be collecting donations to stock the Parent Comfort Cart for Riley Children's Hospital during the K-Day Pancake Breakfast Saturday, Sept. 26, from 6 a.m.-noon.

Many parents find themselves in need of comfort items when staying with their child at Riley for any period of time. The Parent Treasure chest is manned by Kiwanis volunteers and goes throughout the hospital providing these comfort items to parents that may need a listening ear, just a kind of pickup, or a personal item to make themselves feel just a little bit better about confronting the next moment with their child.

Items must be new and in original packaging and include items such as neck pillows, slippers, non-skid slipper socks, travel-sized toiletries (shampoo, shave gel, lotion, mouthwash, body soap, etc.), book lights, notebooks/journals, nail clippers (individual packages), dorm-size laundry soap, game books (Sudoko, Word Search, Crosswords, etc.), hair brushes, scrunchies and "Forever" postage stamps.

A more comprehensive list can be provided on request.

For questions or more information, please contact Ann Walden at 448-8352, Penny Keller at 877-2910, Stephanie Ronaldson at 442-5570 or via e-mail at Brazil.IN.Kiwanis@gmail.com.
