To the Editor:

Where have our schools gone?

Came home today and my 9-year-old son was instructed to give us our parent/teacher conference.

What is wrong with this picture? To lazy or uncaring to take time to inform us about our child?

I noticed he wasn't doing well when the first grading period he got an A and now he got a B. And they didn't think I was a rocket scientist.

Schools are always talking about SATs. The question I have is how many teachers could pass them?

I only hope all because they are paid to teach our children.

Maybe instead of homework, they should use their time a little better and do the work at school where the child could get better help (hope the teacher) since I've been out of school for 30 years.

I'll keep the cleaning up the room, picking up the toys, eating all the veggies at home. You keep the math, spelling, art, social studies at school.

I would be more than happy to help out, but I'm tired of doing it.

Remember, teaching is your job. I do not ask you to do my job, so please quit asking me to do yours.

If this offends anyone, I'm sorry.
