To the Editor:

Dear Brazil residents,

For the past few weeks, my wife and I have been in the Brazil area due to a family illness.

Our sister-in-law, Dottie Ann Hughes, is in the care of the compassionate staff at St. Vincent Clay Hospital.

We wanted to say, "thank you," for the hospitality and wonderful atmosphere this lovely community has given us. Everywhere we go, we have been made to feel welcome.

The greatness of this country is not because of the major cities. It is the kindness of the citizens in small towns like yours.

The level of greatness in your community was recently shown during the ceremonies for Marine Cpl. Gregory Scott Stultz.

Being a 20-year veteran of the United States navy SEALS, I have seen and attended many similar events. But the way your community turned out to support the family and show honor to the memory of Cpl. Stultz was very impressive.

I just wanted to take a moment and say thank you on behalf of our family to the way this wonderful community has embraced us, and one of your own.
