Food pantry still in need

Clay County Emergency Food Pantry thanks the community for its generous support.

The pantry continues to receive financial, food, clothing and household items.

We want to thank Kroger for their generous and important contributions of bread items. Many individuals, churches, civic and commercial organizations have been faithful and generous.

We want to thank Jerry Evans for his time and equipment to relocate the poles that have been placed to define the parking area.

We would ask that material and food items are in proper and current value. We have experienced a large amount of items that are not usable and we consider to be dumping.

This puts additional burden on the pantry to dispose of. We receive a lot of yard sale items that must be sorted and too often discarded. You would be reminded that all objects and goods left on the premises become the property of the pantry. Please seek permission to leave items of value so that can be properly allocated to those who are seeking household items.

Please take note of our signage and also that neighbors are observant of individuals who have taken items from the storage shed during hours and days we are not open.

Your cooperation in these matters will be greatly appreciated.

The pantry continues to need extra volunteer help, male or female. Your continued goodwill and support of this ministry is vital at this time.

We are experiencing increasing demand for food. During the months of September and October, we served 572 households, including 1,004 adults and 654 children, distributing 4,823 bags of essential food.
