Community should be proud of area businesses

To the Editor:

Recently, the lift chair which my 93-year-old mother has quit working.

I went to Lynn's Pharmacy hoping they could order a new remote for it.

After looking on the net, Robert Hostetler commented that it would probably be impossible to find one because of the age of the chair.

No one would be surprised if that was the end of the story -- just buy a new one.

Instead, he said he would be in Terre Haute near where she lived and would go by and take a look at it.

His suspicions were correct, unfortunately. But Frank (I don't know his last name) who repairs and assembles items at Lynn's was able to "manufacture" a part to fix it.

He made two trips to Terre Haute and she now has use of her chair.

The charges were very reasonable, but most of all, it shows just how fortunate Brazil is to have a business that really cares.

I have read their quote, "You are our friends and neighbors is more than a slogan, it is our mission."

Truer words were never spoken.

Thank you Lynn's.

Carol Nickey,

Brazil
