Rescue is open to public

To whom it may concern,

We as a private rescue are open to the public by appointment.

The Clay County Rescue has had an animal contract with the city for three years. We are never full, because we have many resource outlets for animals.

We pick up animals Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-4 p.m., and on weekends for emergency reasons.

To contact us, please call 812-605-0548. We are a small rescue that has helped a lot of animals over the years, and will continue to help animals for many more to come.

As a rescue, we take in a lot of animals that have to be given up for one reason or another. Our rescue should be the last resort to re-homing your pet. All animals that are picked up by animal control from the city will have three business days to be claimed by the owners. By law of Indiana, after the animal is dropped off at our rescue where it is vetted and re-homed through adoption or transferred to another animal rescue to be placed for adoption.

I am a home-based rescue with foster homes and eight rescues that help with the transport and re-homing of the animals.

We have a vet that comes out once a month to check our animals and gives shots. We are here to help and save animals. Not for drama or the rumor mills. Please, if you have something to say or ask, call our rescue and we will answer the questions you have to the best of our knowledge.

We have nothing to hide, but the rescue is at our home, so if people could please make appointments either for adoptions or finding lost animals, it would be appreciated.

We do not pick up animals in the county as of last year. If you would like to help with the animals, call the rescue. We always have something going on and we are always looking for much needed help.

Donations to the animal control for Brazil is always appreciated no matter how small, large or if you just want to come out and help give a stray a bath.

Rumors can badly hurt a person or a business, so please, if you hear something, call and ask instead of assuming they are true.

We are two people and a lot of resources and we can always use more.
