Letter to the Editor

Organization changing location

To the Editor:

A little time back, I called out to the community for a place to continue a charity haunted house.

I am happy to say we will be continuing our tradition this year.

We will be located at the 4-H Fairgrounds in the Amax Building. We also took a new name for our group. So what was once known as the Poland Haunted Barn is now called the Phoenix Asylum. This is our new permanent name.

We would also like to thank Troy Harvey and the Posey Township Fire Department for their interest and support. Their calls were deeply appreciated.

This year is in memory of Loretta Terrell, who is the reason the group was founded, and Mercedes (Sadie) Compton, who recently lost her fight and is our reason for continuing our fight against cancer.

The proceeds will be going to Brenda Custis and Judith Homler, who are currently fighting their battle with cancer.

The Phoenix Asylum will be Oct. 28-29, starting at 7 p.m., until 1 a.m.

If anyone is interested, we are looking for a few more sponsors to help get this year off the ground. We could use building material and cash donations to get things we need. Please give me a call at 448-9183 if you can help.

We hope to see the community come out and help us support this cause. Because we know cancer affects everyone in some way and that this is one fight no one should have to go through alone.

Hope you have a scream of a time.

Thank you,

John Bryan,

Brazil
