Reader remembers references

To the Editor:

I enjoyed reading Mr. Weddle's letter on 1947.

Brought back memories of what used to be on Main Street.

I certainly remember the Sourwine burning, because I lived across the street at 103 S. Walnut with my parents, grandmother and great-uncle.

There were apartments upstairs and the people who lived in them came to our house and my grandmother made coffee for them.

I remember one lady lying on our couch calming me. I was 5-years-old.

I believe her name was Mrs. Proctor. It's something I will never forget.

I have a few pictures taken after and would be happy to mail them to the paper if anyone is interested.
