Food Pantry thanks community

Sunday, June 17, 2012

To the Editor:

We volunteers at the Clay County Emergency Food Pantry would like to thank all the businesses, postal workers, churches, banks and individuals who have donated so much food and clothing to the pantry in the last few months.

Your donations are greatly appreciated by the clients who come to us for food. Now that school is out and children are at home, much more food is needed to meet their needs. Our supply is running low and we are in need of canned vegetables, fruits, pasta, soups, canned milk, laundry soap, dish soap, sugar, cake mixes, Hamburger Helper and just about any food that children need during the summer months.

Just be sure to check the dates on each box and can to make sure the food is not outdated.

We cannot give outdated food to the families per Catholic Charities.

We can also use garden vegetables and orchard fruits or just about anything that you have an abundance of.

Thank you from all the volunteers at the pantry and hope you will continue to support our needs.
