YMCA Clay County Youth Food Delivery Program
We are the Clay County Youth Food Delivery Program. This is our picture and logo. This is a picture of the thank you card we received from a child in 2017 after we sent food home on the weekend for the child. No child should "werry" about their next meal. We are a community working together to do all we can to ensure kids don't "werry" on school breaks We deliver food to the children in Clay County for weekends, daily during summer breaks and we deliver 2 weeks of shelf-stable food for Christmas Delivery thanks to Duke Energy and our community to helps fill the need left for volunteers and financial donations. We are a community working together and doing the impossible.
We believe ....

We believe. We believe in our community who works together to feed children and help families.
Yet every once in a while we worry as each new challenge faces us. As of this evening, 11/25/18, for Christmas Delivery 2018, we have 337 families (55 not confirmed yet) and 946 children (221 not confirmed yet).
We have 8 people who have said they will help for Christmas Delivery on 12/20/18 and of course our Duke Energy volunteers! It is going to take at least 200 more Delivery volunteers.
We need lots of help. If you can help deliver, please let us know. We will start on 12/20/18 at 10 am loading for delivery at the 4H Fairgrounds in Brazil.
Packing for delivery will start at 5 pm on 12/19/18 at the 4H Fairgrounds and delivery volunteers can get their info that evening.
We need volunteers who can physically move food and load vehicles for both days. We need volunteers who can stay after on the 20th and help clean up and can help move any extra or returned food to where it needs to go.
Last Christmas the volume of food and deliveries took us by surprise. We are sure this Christmas will too but we are figuring it out together. We are at almost twice the number of last Christmas as of 11/25/18.
Too much information? Just let us know if you can help on December 19th or 20th. We need you.
p.s. If you are one of the families we served this summer, have not returned a form, not called the Y, not Messaged us and did not speak with a volunteer yesterday, our volunteers left delivery information, you would be one of the 55 families not confirmed yet. Please FB messenger us at Clay County Youth Food Delivery Program on Facebook, email clayyouthfoodprogram@gmail.com , or call the Clay County YMCA at 812-239-7442. If you need help over Christmas Break for your kids please contact us if you haven’t done so ready.
