YMCA Clay County Youth Food Delivery Program
We are the Clay County Youth Food Delivery Program. This is our picture and logo. This is a picture of the thank you card we received from a child in 2017 after we sent food home on the weekend for the child. No child should "werry" about their next meal. We are a community working together to do all we can to ensure kids don't "werry" on school breaks We deliver food to the children in Clay County for weekends, daily during summer breaks and we deliver 2 weeks of shelf-stable food for Christmas Delivery thanks to Duke Energy and our community to helps fill the need left for volunteers and financial donations. We are a community working together and doing the impossible.
From empty to enough

There was an empty cabinet at First Baptist Church. Then it was filled. We were ready to step out in faith. The second photo is the food Green Leaf Inc. donated the very next day to get us started. We stepped out in faith with Clay County YMCA to pilot the Program at Forest Park Elementary School (thank you Nicole Fry for believing with us). So we piloted Forest Park Elementary, worked out the details and were ready to go into other schools, but had no money. Then an anonymous donor funded FPE, so we decided to keep going.
The facts and data we had showed there was no way we could grown or sustain this program. We had and have no guaranteed funding. In fact, we were told this was a one year Program that was impossible to sustain without guaranteed funding and big donors. We shared this with our community and told the stories. Our community joined us and stepped up. Every donation of food and money keeps being enough when we put it all together. Every person who volunteers makes a difference. Sometimes it takes this picture and the memory of where we started to realize all we are doing together.
This week, we will pack a "bag" of food for next weekend for the kids in the School Program. A bag of food differs. A weekend bag of food is smaller than Spring or Fall Break bag and, of course, Christmas delivery is 2 weeks of food and water.
So, here we are! We will pack our 11,599 bag of food for School Program 18/19 this week. We will be sending home the 120,000th meal this School year.
How is this possible? We have no idea. Someone is in charge and it isn't us. You make it possible. You believe with us. We keep doing the impossible.
