Patio doors source of entertainment
The patio doors in our kitchen affords we seniors plenty to entertain us on these long hot summer days.
Some heavy rain came down, recently and a little bit of sunshine followed and now the heat has returned. We‘d rather be on the inside looking outside. You would be surprised the amount of activity we see here.
When we lived in the little blue house at the end of Elm Street we were busy all the time. Now with no car , walks less frequent and fewer chores to do its pick and choose the fun and creative ways to spend our time.
My buddy and I have been observing the construction project that started the fall of 2016 at Brownsburg High School, several times a day.
The project is scheduled to be completed June of 2020. Since the first phase began classrooms have been renovated , along with other improvements, a plus for the teachers and students now and in days to come.
The original core of the building is now being renovated and workers are working two shifts. The employees of the companies involved start early and some work until 11:00 PM at night. We have ringside seat as the men hurry about their work on the yard and above some nights under the flood lights.
The giant crane and many other pieces of heavy equipment and the men share the work to be done now on the heavy steel framework of the PE/Health addition and more. The huge structure will house seven classes and over 500 students .
There is much to see of the removal of old buildings at the complex and the addition of others. At night, lately, a brownish haze that is brought about by the fires out West clouds our stargazing habit.
I don’t know about my better half, but, as for me, watching the arm of that giant machine work and
a few young men maneuver and plant the roof girders and supports by flood lights is interesting ! That rates right up there with night flights to and from the airport nearby.
Do we have a boring existence or too many senior moments these days, that we can’t function past the patio door?
No, no, no my friends , we wake up with a smile and go to bed with a smile and love the life we live.
We have a loving family, friends old and new and our lovable canine companion Tootie Mae. It is all good!
Now I must go. Someone just fell asleep holding his freshly filled coffee cup and he and his dog are calling for the cleaning lady. Besides, someone in wet ‘jammies’ makes a bad bedfellow. Its all in a days work!
I can be reached by phone at 317-286 - 7352 or drop me a line to 649 South Grant St, Brownsburg, IN., 46112.
