Summer fulfillment
SUMMER FULFILLMENT
Summer has fulfilled herself, Still lovely yet;
She turns herself to Autumn Without regret.
Her months are steep in beauty! Each blowing leaf,
Each fragile dew--swept petal Cups the belief
That summer is the gayest Of all the year!
And yet with her departure There comes no tear. Summer fulfills her vows, Though lovely yet;
She turns her face towards Autumn
Without regrets!
She makes a simple curtsy! Then to retire
To usher in Autumn
And its attire.

Paul and I have been busy with yard work and harvesting the last of the goodness from our little garden. We love watching the squirrels searching out peanuts hid earlier in their burial grounds here and thereabouts.
Between nest building and daytime foraging we see many. The pair of Canadian geese that my neighbor Lynda with a Y befriended failed to return this year. Two hawks perch on the fences every day. Some of my friends and I were talking about the
shortage of hummingbirds at the feeders and flowers that dine with the bees each season.
My Morning Glory and other flowers they feed from were visited by several tiny green visitors today. Paul fell last week a few days after his surgery. He picked himself up. Except from some bruising and a bit of nerves; he is enjoying short-term freedom
from back and legs pain.
We toured the beautiful grounds and art museum
of the former Eli Lily estate today with Starla and Bruce May and he handled his walk well.
Our youngest daughter Lori Ann Patrick’s hus- band is now a resident of a long-term care facility in Noblesville . He is very ill. We visited Cliff last week. I am glad our son-in-law enjoyed our visit. Both men are Navy Veterans
Our granddaughter Lindsay Terry’s husband Mat- thew Terry has been fighting Stage 4 Melanoma for over a year. Yesterday Matthew had his three-month scan to see if his tumors are growing.
The treatment that he is receiving and prayers are working for Matt They are shrinking. The Terry family and their family and friends are elated.
Tootie Mae is ready to be tucked in bed. She is waiting for a wee drink and some sweet talk.
