On Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2019, a ceremony was conducted at Brazil's Forest Park to remember the events of Sept.11,2001. Fifth graders from Forest Park and East Side Elementary and Cornerstone school attended the event. Keilee Hollowell, an East Side student, helped lead the Pledge of Allegiance.

Lt. Col. Mike Hall shared his experience on Sept. 11 and quoted President George W. Bush: "We will go forward and defend freedom and that is just and good in the world." He said every generation has its defining moments. Pearl Harbor, the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, and Sept. 11, 2001. Whatever the next generation's defining moment is, we must be ready.
