The Class A No. 2 Eels get the unsavory job of knocking off the No. 8 Cardinals just to get to the title game of the sectional where they could face the No. 15 Wolverines or the Thunderbirds who have a great deal of talent as well...

Ahnya A. Alstott, eighth grader at North Clay Middle School, is the Veterans of Foreign Wars 2002 Patriot's Pen Contest essay winner. Clay County VFW Post 1127 awarded Alstott a $150 scholarship for her essay "My Pledge to America" Thursday. House fire kills 2 pets

CENTER POINT -- A family lost their home to fire Thursday night. Center Point Fire Chief Mike Ledgerwood said his department was called to the 300 block of Williams Street at 9:30 p.m. While the family escaped, two pet dogs were lost in the blaze.
