Tryouts for the Northview High School volleyball team will begin on Monday from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. to noon. They will continue on Tuesday at the same time with cuts to be made on Tuesday.

Air tour taking off

The Soil and Water District is hosting its Seventh Conservation Air Tour. The event is scheduled for Aug. 13 from 7:30 a.m. to noon, weather permitting, with flights originating from the Clay County Airport. A donation of $20 per person for the flights will be accepted. A group out of Texas is running a scam in which they ask for monetary support for area schools from local businesses and organizations. This group has not been authorized by anyone involved with the schools to help with fundraisers. The money they collect does not benefit locals as they promise and the group pockets the money for their own use...
