Thomas puts campaign behind him

Months of campaigning, speaking, and working gained Andy Thomas the Republican Nomination for District 44 Representative, with a majority of the votes going to the incumbent. Thomas defeated challenger Ken Eitel by a rather large margin in Tuesday's election, moving further along the track to the November election. Tuesday's voting percentage not comprable to past

Clay County had a little lower than usual turnout for the election yesterday at about 30 percent. Numbers are usually higher for a presidential election. However, those numbers can be a little misleading since the Motor Voter Law of 1995. Basically, that law allowed voters to be able to register to vote at easily accessible places such as the license branch and welfare offices.
