The North Clay Knights edged past Clay City in junior high cross country action on Thursday night. Carmella Roeschlein and Lyndy Jones finished 1-2 for the Eels in the girls race, but the Knights came out on top in a tight battle, 25 to 36. Roeschlein finished in 14:09 with Jones close behind in 14:14 slightly ahead of North Clay's Tiffany Young and Casandra Barnett who finished in nearly identical times of 14:23 with Raven Enders rounding out the top five...

In Saturday's Shakamak Invitational at Jasonville, Clay County runners took the individual titles as Northview's Emily Pugh dominated the girls race in winning by more than a full minutes. Mary Beth Tribble shot a 90 for Northview in regional play on Saturday. One year after placing second to top-ranked Evansville Memorial in regional golf action, the Knights got their rematch at Otis Park in Bedford, IN on Saturday afternoon. Once more Evansville was top-ranked and showed their might by winning this year's Bedford North Lawrence Regional, but the Knights also flexed their 19th ranked muscle in qualifying for the state finals for the fourth time in five years with a third place team finish.. ...
