Alvah D. Ballinger, 73, of Brazil died unexpectedly February 25, 2006, in the emergency room at Terre Haute Regional Hospital. He was born April 8, 1932, in Center Point, the son of Alva Edwin Ballinger and Altha Irene Wells Ballinger. As a young man, he joined the U.S. Navy and served on the USS Kearsarge during the Korean War. When he came home from service, he began working at Glenn-Gerry Brick in Brazil. He operated a tow-mower at the brick plant for over 25 years, retiring in 1985...
