Stoney Fisher, a probationary firefighter with the Brazil Fire Department, flushes a fire hydrant in the Lake Brazilian Estates neighborhood. The department flushes each of the city's 257 hydrants every year, according to Chief Tobey Archer. The annual flushing eliminates stagnant water that builds up between hydrants and the water lines that supply them.
