Mae L. Turner, 94, Brazil, passed away at Cloverleaf Health Care, Knightsville, June 15, 2009. She was born Dec. 28, 1914, in Lena, to Ernest and Catharine (Stallcop) Underwood. She graduated from Brazil High School with the class of 1933. Mrs. Turner married Melvin E. Turner Jan. 1, 1935. She was a member of the Cross Lane Community Church and the Berea Christian Church and Past President of the Homemakers Extension Club, as well as a leader of the Clay County 4-H Busy Bees Club for many years...

Personal vehicle stolen during emergency run

In less than 20 minutes, a local emergency responder had his car stolen when he was toned out to an accident scene Sunday evening.
