The Staunton Community Center Open House is this Sunday from 1-4 p.m., officially "welcoming" this new building into our community. Meat and drinks will be furnished, and everyone attending is asked to bring a covered dish and a gift for the building. Band, Guard taking another shot at $25,000 Pepsi grant

Through another opportunity from the Pepsi Foundation, the Northview High School Band and Guard is in the running for a $25,000 grant. The band, under the direction of Bob Medworth, currently stands in third place for the grant. Those interested in voting may do so by logging on to www.northviewband.org and clicking on the link. Board sets textbook, meal fees

With a new school year approaching quickly, it is time to start planning on the cost for school. The first day in the building for teachers will be Aug. 13, and students will be returning Aug. 17. In a unanimous vote, the Clay Community School Board of Trustees approved the new textbook rental fees and costs. The textbook costs are higher at Jackson Township Elementary because of the Shurley Reading Method...
