Luckily, some of the major projects we planned this year are nearing completion. With the burn ban still in place and no rain in sight, clearing the fence line and thereabouts is waiting, on a back burner...

Van Buren Volunteer Fire Department brush trucks were kept busy Tuesday afternoon when a trash fire accidentally ignited a nearby field by a residence on County Road 1400 North, Brazil. VBVFD Fire Chief Pete Taylor and Lt. Tod Haring told The Brazil Times approximately 20 acres were burned during the incident that required assistance from Dick Johnson Volunteer Fire Department, Bridgeton Fire Department and Clay County Search and Rescue supplied water for the exhausted firefighters who battled to contain the blaze for more than an hour. ...

Plans for the detention pond are moving forward with hopes of keeping the United States 40 project on its current proposed schedule.
