Board to conduct public hearing

Officials with the City of Brazil will conduct a public hearing during the Brazil Board of Public Works and Safety meeting, which will take place June 27, at 10 a.m., at Brazil City Hall, 203 E. National Ave., Brazil. Recycling program adds jobs

PARKE COUNTY -- A refrigerator/freezer recycling program that pays Parke County REMC members $35 for each unit scheduled for free pickup has brought jobs to the state. Because of the level of participation and interest in recycling old, inefficient refrigerators and freezers, a new recycling facility recently opened in Indianapolis, which will provide Hoosiers with jobs and will also open up more pickup times for Parke County REMC members when they want to ditch their old appliance...

Park Board discusses vandalism problem

During the June Brazil Park and Recreation Board meeting, the board discussed a vandalism problem within the local parks. According to Board President Ruthann Jeffries, Brazil Mayor Brian Wyndham is "extremely upset about the vandalism problem."
