The Lady Volunteers of the Staunton Community Center will host a beef and noodles dinner at the community center Friday, Jan. 18, from 4-7 p.m. The menu will include beef and noodles, mashed potatoes, green beans, slaw, dinner rolls and dessert, along with your choice of coffee, tea or lemonade. New taxes to help road conditions

Opal M. Grigsby, 83, Brazil, passed away Jan. 3, 2013, at home with her family by her side following a lengthy illness. She was born Feb. 4, 1929, the daughter of John and Viola "Ollie" (Lanham) Bemis. Opal married Clyde Grigsby Sr., Feb. 21, 1948. He preceded her in death on April 14, 1989.
