Policy change suggested for delinquent city water bills

The next time a water meter is pulled due to unpaid bills in the city of Brazil, it may take up to 24 hours for residents to have service restored, city officials said Wednesday. At the Brazil Board of Public Works and Safety meeting, Brazil City Water Superintendent Jake Raubach said there are cases when a meter is removed and then the resident pays the bill the same day and expects service by the end of the day. He added this creates overtime for city employees...
