Local children interested in joining the Clay County 4-H program can now enroll. Those interested in enrolling their children, grades 3-12, in Clay County have until Jan. 15. Youth may be enrolled in Clay County 4-H either online at in.4honline.com or visiting the Clay County Purdue Extension office located at 6656 N. SR 59, Brazil, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays. Fire destroys businesses in Loogootee

LOOGOOTEE -- A large fire has destroyed some businesses on a southern Indiana community's downtown square. Officials say the fire broke out about 10 a.m. Wednesday at a T-shirt shop in the Martin County city of Loogootee. The Herald of Jasper reports the fire spread to a flower ship and a beauty salon.
