Sheriff's department welcomes new K9 officer

The Clay County Sheriff's Department has a new K9 deputy following the retirement of Forrest, who was Chief Deputy Josh Clarke's partner. Forrest was an older dog that passed away shortly after being retired from the sheriff's department. The new dog's name is Bear. He is from the Czech Republic and is 15 months old. He is a Shepherd/Malinois mix and was purchased from Northern Michigan K9 in Harrison, Michigan. He is now fully trained, Clarke said...
