Power of Community set for Sept. 24

The third annual "Power of a Community" will take place on Sept. 24 at North Clay Middle School in the commons area. Doors open at 6 p.m. with the "Taste of Clay County" food stations opening at 6:30. Power of Community will feature samplings of many Clay County restaurants and caterers, live entertainment with Gray Beard and Banks of the Wabash Chorus, and raffles, silent and live auctions of themed baskets and donated items. ...

The Tri-County Home Ec. Club met Aug. 15 at the home of Jeanne Steuerwald with co-hostess Starla Steuerwald. After Jeanne gave grace 11 members and three guests enjoyed a delicious lunch. Vera Lear and Sandy Williams won the lucky napkins gifts. President Jane Williams led the "Pledge of Allegiance" and the "Homemaker's Creed." Vera Lear gave devotions from the book, "Mornings with Jesus." Starla gave the health and safety lesson on the importance of using SPF 50 lip gloss to prevent cancer when out in the sun for long periods of time. ...
