Dinner raises funds for Clay County Military Plaza

VFW Post 1127 hosted a turkey dinner on Nov. 5 to raise funds for the construction of the Clay County Military Plaza planned for Craig Park. The opening ceremony for the plaza was delayed due to the amount of rain Clay County received this summer. The plaza will consist of five flags representing each branch of service with the American Flag in the middle. Broomtree Ministries is putting on a cookie-decorating event for children will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19 at the Brazil Family Restaurant.
