RAIN, RAIN, GO AWAY - Carnival closed today

Due to the heavy rainfall over the past couple of hours, organizers of the 2017 Brazil Rotary 4th of July Celebration at Forest Park has confirmed the carnival will be closed tonight. Tonight's live entertainment - local band "Mullet Over" scheduled to perform at 7 and again at 8:30 p.m. - has not made a decision at this time. (In case of inclement weather, organizers had already made arrangements to move the live entertainment to the Pavilion/Cow Palace at Forest Park.)...

Demand for senior bus service increasing

Bob DeCamp, director of the Clay County Senior Citizens Center bus service, would like to add one-half day every other Monday to the schedule because the demand for the service is increasing. “The Tuesday service is pretty heavy,” DeCamp said Friday.

CCSWCD selling rain barrels, composters

Clay County Soil and Water Conservation District is selling rain barrels and composters. Rain barrels cost $67, while composters are $125. Orders, which must be prepaid, will be taken through Thursday, July 21. Delivery will be Wednesday, Aug. 2. Scrapbooking event at Genealogical Library
