Boy raises money to feed local children for National Lemonade Day

James Miller Moon (right) presents Terry Barr with $404.04 he collected Saturday in his lemonade stand at Kroger for National Lemonade Day. The money will be used for the Clay County Youth Food Delivery Program sponsored by the YMCA. The donation will be doubled by an anonymous donor, Barr said. Many working to ensure bus-riding students get back to school safely

The first day back to school on Monday started early for the Clay Community School Corporation Transportation Department. Bus drivers got behind the wheels of the school buses and hit the roads throughout all of Clay County and into a small portion of surrounding counties — like children in the Mansfield area of Parke County— to pick up elementary students and drop them safely off at school between 7:15 to 7:30 a.m.
