Grand jury indicts Mathews in 2016 Staunton murder

A Clay County grand jury has indicted a Brazil man in the 2016 killing of Virginia Marie Myrtle. Jesse L. Mathews, 36, was charged Thursday with murder and abuse of a corpse, a level 6 felony, in the death of Myrtle at her home in Staunton, authorities announced at news conference Thursday.
